Primulina ‘Loki’ flowering sized plants in 5.5 inch pots

An easy-to-grow houseplant with spectacular foliage.

Primulina are members of the Gesneriad family, the same family as African violets, but are native to Asia, primarily China and Vietnam. Many species grow in rocky habitats and are surprisingly drought tolerant, making them excellent and forgiving houseplants.

Primulina ‘Loki’ is a particularly beautiful compact hybrid with deep green leaves covered in striking silver markings. Purplish-red hairs can develop around the center of the rosette, adding another layer of color and texture. Mature plants produce delicate violet-purple flowers on slender stalks above the foliage.

‘Loki’ was hybridized by Peter Shalit from Primulina brassicoides × P. dryas ‘Latifolia Dwarf’. It stays relatively compact, generally around 6–8 inches across, and is vigorous and easy to grow.

For me, the real attraction of Primulina is the foliage. They are relatives of African violets, but with an extraordinary diversity of leaf patterns, textures and colors.

For sale are well rooted plants in 5.5 inch pots (shown in the second and third pictures). With these shipping cannot be combined with other plants. They are so large, they will be shipped one per box.
